Traditional Catholic Motto

The Traditional Catholic's Motto

We are what you once were.
We believe what you once believed.
We worship as you once worshipped.
If you were right then, we are right now.
If we are wrong now, you were wrong then.

H/T to Lynne.

I liked this because while I am not a die hard traditionalist, I have arrived here because of the "folk Catholic" church I grew up in. I consider myself one more traditionalist that was made by a very liberal priest. I don't believe I am alone...

Stymied

Regardless of the significance, this is a VERY welcome site in this diocese(rare in any diocese really). Biretta too. That's it. I'm speechless.

H/T to Kentucky Catholic Eye and Dappled Things.

Making fun of traditional nuns becomes a sport

For those wondering, the "real sister" is on the right. This was a story in our local diocesan paper and is disturbing that nuns who practice Reiki and centering prayer as well as some other earth worship deserve a featured spot in our local Catholic paper. It is just creepy that sisters who practice new age magic masked as Catholicism can make fun of those who hold true to the faith and continue to wear the habit in humility. I realize a lay person is the one in the habit in the picture but someone decided it would be a fun thing to print. It is an abomination that this can and does go on with no accountability. Who are these nuns accountable to? It's not the diocese. Yet they are utilized in many of our schools and such. And then they can be honored as upstanding Catholics in our community? It truly makes me shudder. Here is the link to the website that has more on their "retreats" and social justice beliefs. Congregation of Divine Providence.
If you look at the HOLY FAMILY HOME, it is there the older retired sisters and many of them still wear the habit. I have to wonder if they are saddened by what has become of their order? It has to be a great suffering if they are. It is no wonder the orthodox and traditional orders have so many young women. Before I met my husband, I looked into many orders and became so disenchanted with the local convents. Very new age and except for 2 or 3, all have abandoned traditional habits.

Imminent. I'll take imminent.

Motu proprio imminent, Vatican prelate confirms

They wonder why the Traditional Mass is attended by so many young people with many children. Hmm. There goes the theory of older people wanting to go all pre-conciliar. We, the post-V2 members of the Catholic church want that which is holy, sacred and not of this world. That and something with a bit less protestant flavoring added. Is it too much to ask?

Sacred Music Links

I have been searching for a "traditional jukebox" of sorts to stream in my studio while I work to no avail. If anyone knows of any, please post. Chant and polyphony are my idea of traditional and most Catholic music sites have contemporary artists. Here is a midi site I found:
Hymns to God and the Church The selection is wonderful and is a great overview of how many wonderful songs we have to choose from.

Another Tridentine Mass

We could not keep ourselves away from the Mass again this morning. My daughter asked specifically "can we go to the Latin Mass on my birthday?" Needless to say, it was hard to say no. The alternative would have been attending our parish where it has become a total free-for-all. We had the last Sunday with our traditional music director and I cannot imagine what lies ahead. I made My daughter a beautiful head scarf for today and she was fine with it until after communion, she wanted to pin it instead of tying it. It just takes getting used to. The basilica was double the size over last weeks Mass. I don't know where we will be next week. I can't worry about it today. I am going to try to let God take care of that.
