Keep up with the crazy

Influential nun calls for 'non-violent resistance' against Vatican apostolic visitation

most women's religious orders have found an entirely new way of living their vocations since Vatican II. "So, let's be what we are," she writes: "Religious who are not cloistered and ministers who are not ordained."

I'm glad the Vatican is looking at the communities as a priority. Late, but looking. I can't imagine some of these communities lasting more than another 30 or so years(dying out). I think a scientific and honest census of new vocations and stability would be very interesting at this time.

Deo gratias

Press Release from the Superior General of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X
After a tremendously crappy week as an American pro lifer, THIS is a beam of sunshine. Thank you Holy Father(my hero) for such a gift to Holy Mother Church. Gratias tibi ago.

When will it end?

Soon? This is interesting. I wonder if this will come to fruition?(Look at the comments under the news for some insightful info)

Vatican official suggests reconsidering Communion in the hand

By the way, we had a wonderful celebration of Candlemas today. My son was able to serve and my middle son, who is usually timid about faith matters, said he wants his older brother to help him learn. Even if he is never able(because of autism), the presense of desire made me tear up at Mass. After a rough weekend of not so great news, it was a little gift for my unworthy self. As a mother, things such as this carry so much weight.

SOME ASPECTS OF EVANGELIZATION

Vatican Defends Right to Convert

CONGREGATION FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH

DOCTRINAL NOTE ON SOME ASPECTS OF EVANGELIZATION

I found the section on ecumenical implications to be of interest.
With non-Catholic Christians, Catholics must enter into a respectful dialogue of charity and truth, a dialogue which is not only an exchange of ideals, but also of gifts, in order that the fullness of the means of salvation can be offered to one’s partners in dialogue. In this way, they are led to an ever deeper conversion to Christ.

I can't help but think of a recent situation I found on Wellsprings of Traditional Life:
Challenges of Faith: Attacks

I have run into non-Catholic Christians who are just crazed with the talking points they have been fed by their pastor and you cannot have a dialog or reason with them. This is not always the case but it seems they must offer a course in "How to Hack off a Catholic" in bible college. Until we have proper Catholic portrayal in the media(including movies and tv), the stereotypical and WRONG image of what Catholics believe and why will continue to churn in society. One of the worst examples I saw of this on both accounts was in the movie "Saturday Night Fever" and also the funny but dead wrong show "Everybody Loves Raymond". Poor Catholic example is put out there, that is what uneducated people walk away with in their head and it sticks.
Sorry about the "tangent" but I think this problem is so widespread that even Catholics who are trying to live the church life have an identity crisis thanks to poor example. End story, we need another Archbishop Fulton Sheen for our day....

Hula Mass. I did not know that. Hmph.

Vatican Approves Hula Masses
Just when you think you have heard it all, here comes another genre of Mass that was needed. Hula Mass. Well, see, ya know, here's the rub. It depends on how you define "dance". Right. Here's someone who has my attitude:

***"Participation through gestures and posture should be strongly encouraged in Masses with children with due regard for age and local custom."***

What's next? A mosh pit at mass for stoners? Macarena mass for the Latin Americans? Clogging masses for mountain folk?

This was approved in 1999 while I was busy nursing babies and I just missed this newfangled way of worship. Forget the mantilla, throw me a grass skirt and and a coconut and lets do this.

Okay, back to work, this is too much for my wee traditional brain.

AA-1025: Memoirs of an Anti-Apostle Proof

I read this book about 13 years ago and forgot about it until recently. It all seemed plausible but hard to believe it would "ever get out". Then I came across this story in a search: Off with his hat!
On further searches, I found an article from the UK titled THE GREATEST CONSPIRACY which examines the relationship of the Freemasons and the Vatican. For those that have read the book, this is telling news and I have to believe the recent events in Poland are a result of infiltration. It is just frightening how close he became to holding such a high office.
