Well it took place.

Pope meets Pelosi, speaks of Church teachings on life

Benedict "took the opportunity to speak of the requirements of the natural moral law and the Church's consistent teaching on the dignity of human life from conception to natural death," the Vatican said in a statement.

Sigh. In one ear...

You are right, it will probably go in one ear...however I am pleased to know she was denied the photo op, and I pray the Holy Father had some effect on her. I just cannot imagine having the gall to ignore instructions given by the Pope!

wow, I'm so pleased he met with her, if she still refuses to listen then she has been warned, God will only put up with our foolishness for so long.

At least now she can't get away with that, "I've studied Catholicism extensively" garbage... it irks me to think that some not-so-devout Catholics may have even believed her nonsense. She should be forced to make a statement about life NOW.

The Holy Father should take the opportunity to excommunicate her formally. Or at least give her a stern warning and make her bishop take action if she does not change her ways. Of course we do not know all the details of the talk, so it’s possible a warning could have been given.
