Overheard at the pool...

Today was work day and pool day. How does my family find and over-use words? It happens. Today's word was "terrifying". Oldest Thorn does a flip in the pool. "Did you see that mom? It was terrifying!" Then we all had to use that word. Dog barks. "What was that?" "Terrifying, it was a wildebeest!" "Oh, wait, what was it?" I answered "I don't know what a wildebeest is, but it's terrifying!" This went on for a good hour. Some of the "thornisms" are a result of watching Guy on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" on the Food Network. He needs a translator. Last night it was "take me home and call me Buford". The kids thought that one was funny. Then it went from "terrifying" to "Man, that is the bomb dot com!" I wonder what tomorrow's catch phrase will be. The boys like to repeat things from movies and TV shows so I never know.

My kids do the same thing. I would call it a really weird quirky thing but I do it all the time too in my head, so I guess they take after me.

We love that diners show (food shows are big around here).

A favorite in my house is "tut tut, looks like rain" and lately we hear that every day!
