I'm not scared. Well, maybe a little. Yeah okay, I'm really scared.

My son is quite fond of these explosives in a can. I find myself alone, blowing them up often. So much, in fact, that the thought of sticking the dreaded spoon in there gives me an overwhelming sense of doom. What if someone tainted it with gunpowder? What if it socks me in the chest so hard that I lose consciousness and pass out? What if liquid got in there and it splatters all over the ceiling? This picture is proof that biscuit cans KILL(or at least, severely disable).

I'm just saying, be careful. Frequenting the sacraments has not helped me overcome my fear of biscuit cans and their evil cousins the cinnamon roll tubes.

I overcame my fear long ago by adopting this method (rather than the spoon thing):
First, I unravel the outer wrap until it's down to the cardboard. Then, I strategically whack the tube against the edge of the counter as hard as I can. The resulting bang is less noticeable or scary because I sort of caused it rather than the trapped air. (it's a rush of power) Then, I try to make something of the smushy mess inside the can. I always smile when I blast open one of them things. I used to grimace and cringe but not anymore!

Oh yeah! I make the Beloved open those if at all possible. The worst is when you peel the paper as per directions and it STILL doesn't pop. That's a telltale sign that the explosion is gonna be bad...
