Is this 2008?

Since I have nothing spiritual to add today, I came across what I believe to be an food industry feud that has lasted long enough. Why can't the hot dog manufacturers and hot dog bun manufactures reach an agreement on the number of buns/dogs per package? Are we the only family that always has two un-eaten hot dogs left in the fridge? When will this end? The easiest solution would be to remove the two dogs and charge less. 10 dogs. 8 buns. Apparently, no one wants to budge.(My but it's been a long week.)

You make me think of Steve Martin in "Father of the Bride" where he is at the store opening those hot dog bun pkg's pulling out two buns and saying he doesn't understand why he should have to pay for 10 buns when there is only 8 hot dogs... too funny!!

save to two buns, tear them into bread crumbs, fry them up in some butter, voila-topping for macaroni and cheese

That's a good use Cordelia! You could also use the same as croutons on salad. If you buy in bulk, 4 packages of hot dogs on sale will keep for a looooooonnnngggg time in the freezer, 5 packages of hot dog buns freeze well. Voila, 40 and 40! Take advantage of those sales and stock up. No more left over anything. (Can you tell I buy most of my food in bulk, lol)Ummm, perhaps that is the idea, they want you to buy more...and I fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

Ah, I see Lily has already done the higher "hot dog math" -- it's the manufacturer's way of telling you to have more children. Be that as it may, take the extra two doggies and cook them up and cut them up and GIVE them to the doggies once they cool down a bit. SOME dogs understand the "hoooootttt, hotttt" thing, but greedy dogs burn their mouths.
