The doctor
I was able to get in to see the endocrinologist a while back. I am finishing my last test tomorrow(for now). Many of my symptoms, problems with miscarriage, health, etc. will hopefully be diagnosed as something not life threatening and treatable. Based on some of her observations in the office, she is leaning towards a diagnosis of Cushing's Syndrome. I am praying this is not the case. I have some symptoms but not all the tell-tale ones and most women with Cushings cannot conceive(which I have five times). I did have my thyroid tested and it is perfect, just fine and not even close to borderline. Sigh. I have to put this in God's hands because I cannot control the outcome. Cushing's can usually be traced to long-term, high stress situations and that's my life in a nutshell. Running a business alone with 2 special needs kids with no consistent support system will do that to a person. I have to have faith and trust in God. I certainly can't go this alone. I just wanted to update because I know there are other women out there who struggle with metabolic and auto-immune issues. I have to trust that God has my back on this one.

is this a new endocrinologist? do you like him/her? if you do, would you mind sharing the name for us locals who might need a good one?
Her name is Dr. Beers and she is in the Patient First practice in Nothern Ky. The office is across from Thomas More College. She was very compasionate and seemed to have a handle on all the possible symptoms that I have. I return in January but finish my testing tomorrow.
Prayers for you, dear Thornie.
:(
My prayers as well. May God be with you.
i will certainly pray for you...God bless..
My prayers are with you.
I will pray for you, too -- I have been there (Cushing's tests and all!) a total of 8 miscarriages (1 between my older kids and 7 before my 7 month old!)for no apparent physiological reason. It is terribly painful. Keep praying, "borrow" a little baby from a friend for an afternoon (old Nigerian priest friend's remedy), and always, always pray!
