Can't say enough...

After the week I've had, today was just a miracle. We prayed the Traditional Mass at St. Bernard's today and I am still in awe of how wonderfully it went. The priests, the parishoners, the church, all so amazing. We were very spoiled by having a professional choir today and were told they are coming back for Christmas!(yeah!) I wasn't the only woman in tears over the beauty of their voices. It truly pulled me out of time and space. My parents were able to come today which was nice.
A sweet anecdote from Mass was my youngest son who had to go to the restroom, my husband takes him and on his return, the bells rang for the consecration and he dropped to the floor on his knees in the back of church. Both my mother and I got choked up over that one. God is so amazing.
Afterwards, we had a potluck in the basement which was nice too. I know my kids liked it there and asked when we were coming back. The parish seems so warm and friendly, which is just another bonus.

The church reminds me a little of Sacred Heart. It is still very traditional and the pews are like the ones at Old St. Mary's(even the creeky). Fr. DeVous offered the Mass and Fr. Fitzgerald and Fr. Hils were deacon and sub-deacon(it was a solemn high Mass). Oh, Thursday morning there is a 7:30 am Mass(Latin) for the holy day and also another Friday night at 7pm.

Is there a normal choir that will assist in high Masses every Sunday there?

Yes, they are working on that. I think they have some temporary solutions for now, however.

Fr De Vous' homily today was awesome!

Although a relatively new priest, I believe in years to come he will become to be known as one of our best.

He has graciously accepted the additional work to host the TLM at St Bernard's for Sundays and Holy Days and to use the "old rite" for the Sacraments as well.

We are blessed to have him.

This sounds exactly what I need right now. I wish I could teleport to that parish next Sunday.
