Do you seafood?

How many of you go meatless on Fridays? I have been curious how many do this or have problems because the world isn't as "fish friendly" as Pre-Vatican II days.

I actually get grief sometimes because my children go meatless on Fridays and they are young. Like the fish police are going to take them away in big nets....

I stick to the penance of meatless Fridays, unless a solemnity is observed on Friday. Though I feel so vastly sinful after reading the biography of St. John Vianney and how he lived for years off of two or three potato pancakes a day. May we all be given the grace to be more penitent for ourselves and for the Church.

Abstaining from meat on Fridays is a Dominican discipline. It's a tough one for me, especially since it's not binding on pain of sin (at least for lay Dominicans).

We abstain from meat on Fridays all year. It is actually still in place, never lifted. If you aren't going to abstain on Friday you need to do something else. Of course, being raised Catholic, I had no idea this was the case, lol. We only learned about two or three years ago.

It was funny today, last night dh brought home KFC for the two of us to have after the kiddos were in bed. (thurs.) I just made the kiddos a little quick supper we were running around. Dh said he'd bring home dinner. This morning my littlest one (3yo) sees KFC in the fridge and asked for it. My 13yo son said, "nope, it's Friday." The 3yo answered, "AWWW, nuts!" LOL. We laughed about that!

We had a sea food stir fry tonight.

Yes, I go without meat on Fridays... not easy, as I don't eat vegetables, and am not keen on fish, but no-one ever said life was meant to be easy!

I try to go meatless on Fridays, but at my school that's hard enough to do during Lent, let alone the rest of the year. -_- (Ash Wednesday 2006 and the dinner was steak.)

My family's always been doing meatless Fridays year round and I've kept it up. Unlike JesusFreak, I have a very easy time at school (Notre Dame). I was rather surprised to find so many others who also go meatless - in fact I think all of my friends do. During lent the school takes care of us by banishing meat from the dining halls.
