Archbishop Fulton Sheen's wise words.

“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops, like bishops, and your religious act like religious.”

----Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen,
before the Knights of Columbus, June 1972

Wise words from a man who is the most exemplary Catholic of our modern age. When you are called a trouble-maker or a problem Catholic, take this to heart. What avenue is left when the religious cannot be their own watchdogs because they are too concerned about protecting one another? Or maybe they just want the status quo to remain and not make waves. You can't keep everyone happy and be accountable to the Lord and true to His mission. Look no further than scripture for this message. I have watched episodes of Archbishop Sheen's and they are still so relevent today. What a holy and insightful witness to Christ and His Church.
