12 year old child and rape go Hollywood
Controversial movie on child rape debuts The more I find out about this film, the more disturbing it becomes. Fanning, herself a 12 year old child, should not be portraying something so adult in nature and glamorizing the rape of a child. Some topics and issues should not be made into films.
Controversy does not equal art. I remember in grad school having to spend a week defining art and trying to determine if it is truly objective and personal or if it is universal in nature. Art glorifies man and nature. This subject matter and its execution accomplish neither. Who is the adult that convinced Fanning that playing a 12 year old rape victim would be a great career move? Shouldn't child protection services be looking into that one?
