Ave Maria Not Just for Catholics
Okay, I admit that I had some genuine interest in this development when it was in the planning stage. With things being as they are here, it looked attractive. Then I started to read about some of the weird decisions and plans with the community. Then I read about Monaghan. Then I saw the ugly church. Then Northern Kentucky started looking a lot better than it had. Now they are trying to reach out to non-Catholics to live in a town called Ave Maria? Good grief. It is sad, it could have been very cool. I believe that Monaghan was sincere in his efforts and is to be lauded for doing a great thing. But this being marketable to anyone but Catholics? I just don't see it. I'm still on the mailing list and keep tabs on the development. It is interesting to say the least. (While I realize there are other towns in the US with "Catholic" names, this one has a much more intentional slant)
