Infertility and Facebook

I thought this article was interesting although I do not do this.

Why Your Infertile Friends May Be Hiding You From Their Facebook Feed

It never occur ed to me to block people who are pregnant. Sometimes, it actually helps me to not focus on myself and my infertile/miscarriage history. Anyway...thought it was interesting that this is a "thing" now. I can see where some women may do this to cope.

I can't believe how insensitive so many of the comments on the article are! That totally surprises me. Although I guess I shouldn't be surprised that so many people don't get what it's like to deal with infertility. And you don't even know when you've been hidden so what harm does it do.

I only hid one pregnant woman as far as I can remember and that was because she did a LOT of complaining. And I wouldn't mind at all if I found out someone hid me.

Good luck with the HCG this cycle and I hope your side pain has gone away :)

I was actually going to blog about this! It is really hard for me sometimes when I see ppl on my facebook - like the girl who got pregnant for the 3rd time out of wedlock and only "wants" a girl - who have baby "stuff" all over...but usually just the ones who don't appreciate it at all! Ones who do, I'm very excited for them!
Haven't read the article yet, should be interesting I'm guessing!

PS - I read it - and I agree (with another commenter I think?) I don't think it should even say "envy" so much...because it's not always envy, it can just simply be a reminder of pain you've felt... I don't think I've felt "envy" for a majority of the women, it's usually something else. Sad about some of those comments! Yikes!

I think the difference with me is that the people I am on Facebook with are blog friends who have been infertile or experienced miscarriage. So their "baby party" is a triumph and a miracle. I am especially inspired by my older friends who have had success over 40 :)

Hahha :) interesting point there...though I am not sure if people on FB are so emotionally evolved...
