Without a home again.

We are AGAIN without a parish. I truly did not see this happening to us again. I choose to not go into all the details but it was not the fault of our priest, he was very supportive. I was in a foul mood most of the day yesterday and it has carried over another day. Father Fitzgerald, whom I greatly respect, told us over a year ago that our diocese could only support one Traditional Mass. That was not followed and now we are without a parish, again(the last EF Mass will be the Sunday before Thanksgiving). This has come as bad news for us as we were the only family who have our children in the school there. We have no idea what we will do, my kids are devastated. I wouldn't have brought any of this up but I do need prayers for our family as we do need a parish home quickly. My youngest has no where to make her first communion this year(and she knows it). It is also hard to find a school that will accept our boys with Asperger's. So please pray that we will find a parish, even if it is temporary. The ugly head of the legacy of Bishop Hughes has influenced my life once again. Maybe it will never go away and maybe we need to pray that we find a diocese/home that isn't so screwed up. I'm just tired from it all. So if you can, I know the election is tomorrow, but pray we find somewhere. Lord, help us in our time of need and be near us.

Oh, I am so sorry! Praying as I type, and you will be remembered in future prayers. Keep us posted.

You are in my prayers, my friend - the only words I have for you are hope and prayer, as you already well know. Start an Una Voce chapter in your area if you do not have one already. Lay people can start one! You don't need the Bishop's permission. Our Bishop here in Buffalo is from Tennessee, and they had a chapter for a long time until he left. When he got to our Diocese, we got a note from the President of that chapter: "Your loss is our gain."

Things happen, and they can provide information and support. The rest is up to God.

You will be blessed.

This is truly disheartening.. sorry about your loss.

Is this even possible considering the instructions form the Vatican on these matters? I really don't know what to say. The FSSP moved in over here (kinda) I wonder if the same is possible down there.

Thank you for thoughts and prayers. The FSSP does have a pseudo place here but not permanant. This is a very liberal diocese, liturgically. I would not be seeking an EF for my family if there were more orthodoxy here. The lay people run this diocese(esp those with $$$). I've yet to seen it run otherwise. It is a sad situation.

Has the celebration of the EF been curtailed in Covington? If so, how?

Another group worked on an EF in the diocese which has a priest come in on Sunday and offers the Mass. This was just added about 2 months ago. Since the important factor was that there be "a Mass" in the diocese, ours is the casualty and will cease. Many families from Cincinnati were coming and I have no idea where they will go now. We are being....scattered. As far as I know, the other parish offering the EF does not offer holy day Mass or sacraments. Some of us are looking into that. We will probably join a Cincinnati parish soon. My daughter has a first communion in the spring. I hope that clears it up.

What about Sacred Heart Church? Too far?

It's a bit further but doable. Will probably go there or Old St Mary's. I've had it with Covington to be honest. At least there are quite a few pockets of orthodoxy in Cincinnati. In exile again...
