Help, I'm from Kentucky

So, we have had snakes. We had the icky remains of one that was a casualty of the lawnmower sitting by the pool. Never, in all my life, did I feel called to grab one, get in the car and take it to church with me. Apparently, other Kentuckians feel called to make snake friends. Now, the law is coming after them. This could be reason for the recent snake sightings and spookings in our area. Sometimes, it's embarrassing to be from Kentucky.

Pastor among suspects in illegal snake bust

"You can purchase anything off the Internet except common sense," Harrison said. "A venomous snake isn't a pet. You don't play with it. If you do, you're an idiot."

There ya have it.

i don't know about this...it's part of their religious practice. if indians can have mushrooms and catholics wine to minors, who's to say they can't kill themselves with snakes? i'm just saying.

That is very prevalent here too. In fact, if you watch the history channel they have a show called Hillbilly: The Real Story where they talk about this at length, it's narrated by Billy Ray Cyrus, yeehaw!! Haha
My old religion prof. at UTC is interviewed on it, he is an expert and author.
My grandmother was a snake-handler, too!
