...to love them unconditionally"

Report: Gloucester Teens Had Pact To Get Pregnant

Yikes. The closing words gave me chills...

A recent graduate who had a baby during her freshman year told Time she knows why the girls wanted to get pregnant.

"They're so excited to finally have someone to love them unconditionally," Amanda Ireland, 18, said. "I try to explain it's hard to feel loved when an infant is screaming to be fed at 3 a.m."

I also read this article today. It is hard for me to condemn anything having to do with babies!
I am upset they are so irresponsible, but I have the biggest blind spot when it comes to this issue. Probably because I've been trying for six years with no luck, but I am glad these girls are responsible enough (after the fact) to choose life.
They talk about teen births on the rise.. well I am OK with that considering the oher option for them is abortion.
**sigh**
:-)

That is so sad but I've heard that before, when I was a freshmen in highschool I had two seniors in my art class who both got pregnant on purpose and gave those reasons... so sad.

I feel all children have a right to parents, both parents. I also think that children should be conceived in love, not out of a desire to be loved. I am glad that they carried through with the pregnancies and brought life into the world, but I fear for the values they will pass on to those children. I pray those babies know love, and those girls grow up fast to raise them. Children raising babies, that does not bode well for anyone's future. Prayers for all involved, most especially the children and babies.

Obviously the message is not out yet. On the today show, one of the twits tied this back to the economy and George Bush. Everyone is so depressed that they do dumb things like this. Only change (Obama) can save us from this sad state of depression.
