Pooh Conspiracy Theory

The littlest Thorn goes out with her kite this afternoon. She had a new reel of string and had said her kite twirls and gets twisted so we hoped this new reel would take care of it. I worked in my office and it was quiet as she bursts through the door and creeps down the stairs. Her little head peeps around my door with tousled hair and wind-burned cheeks. She says to me in a sheepish voice "What if I blow away?" I must have looked at her funny because she was worried at this point. I said "You won't blow away." She says back "I'm small, I might blow away." I sent her back outside and told her she didn't have to worry. For some odd reason, I don't think she believes me. I blame Pooh.

If you were older you'd blame Sister Bertrille of the "Flying Nun" fame. Played by Sally Fields in the 1960s it ran for a number of years.

The book it was based on was quite fun ... IIRC it's called "The 15th Pelican" or some such.

I love to fly kites. We seem to always have trouble. String gets in knots, not enough wind, etc.... Kind of like fishing! Still too much snow here to fly kites!

I have to agree with your little one. If I were that age, I'd also believe what I saw with Pooh and his friends.

This is what happens when one spends time listening to everyone else, but does not use their head to determine what to do or not to do. This is a reflection of our culture's influence on the people... ultimately we must be counter cultural, and as my first philosophy teacher once told me, "awaken your mind and use it for the first time in your life, strive to search for the Truth." I will not give his identity away, but he offers a solution to this dilemma. This ultimately is the goal of having a thorn in the pew (right).
