Inconceivable: the Spiritual Test of Infertility
From the article:
God doesn't desire for any couple to be infertile, she says. "But when we suffer from infertility, God is grieving with us," says Hannemann, who experienced infertility herself. "Yes, God wants us to procreate, but God can also bring good out of every situation. If you are suffering from infertility, God will have a plan for you out of all that pain."
Mary's words from the Annunciation-"Let it be done according to your word"-became Holtel-Hoag's prayer. "I was trying to open myself up to the possibilities and to God," she says. "Now I'd probably say, 'Let it be done, with me, according to your word,' to show that it's a partnership between me and God."
(Side note, I don't agree with all in this article. I just found some key points appropriate.)
It was comforting to be at Mass tonight. Conforming a stubborn will is no easy task. Yes, I am talking about mine ;)

God does have a marvelous plan. I never did get to have a biological child...only miscarriages. But the dear Lord did bless us with three beautiful children through adoption. I know this was His plan for our family.
A prayer for your comfort..I know that heartache you are carrying very well. God bless...
Thanks for commenting on my blog! I'm pretty sure I've been to yours before, but of course I can't recall how I got there.. I must have been clicking around and found it!
I've always taken comfort in the Annunciation, which is odd since it is about Mary discovering she will carry a child (not exactly what you would expect to comfort someone with infertility). It always reminds me how scared and confused she must have been, but nevertheless accepted God's will, something I struggle with.
I'm sorry to read of your recent miscarriage. I will keep you in my prayers.
"a stubborn will" oh yeah, i can relate.
Oh, Mrs.Thorn, I too can relate.. I have a great deal of difficulty letting God be in charge and not the other way around... I have to give it over to him many, many times each day!
