One big, happy, secular Christmas

As I read the words of Pope Benedict XVI regarding a "secular Christmas", I opened a "seasonal" card from my humanist/Eco/Unitarian cousin. It had an owl and a tree on it. The words inside wishes me a "Holiday full of love and joy". Here is how the Holy Father calls it:

Secular Christmas celebration pointless, Pope says

It is now becoming passe to bemoan the secularization of Christmas. You cannot truly experience and celebrate the solemnity of Christmas without Christ's Mass. I know of many Christian churches that do not have services on Christmas anymore. How could anything be more important than Christ on Christmas, including family? Family is nice but is never a substitution for Christ's presence in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Never. The older I get, the more I realize what I missed all those years the attention was on getting and giving. Isn't God giving of His son enough? So this year I will especially pray for those who do not have Christ's love to comfort them and give them hope.

But doesn't holiday "Holy Day" have the potential of offending an agnostic or atheist?? How dare they.
