I took the kids to Mass this morning and all went well. My oldest has been having trouble with medications but he hung in there. It felt so different going back to my parish, there was a peace that I haven't felt in a long time and that was surely refreshing. We have a wonderful priest and seminarian there and I want to try to ease my way back. So much damage had been done to my family and it was brutal. Some things can be healed, I don't know if it all will be "okay" but I will go and do what God asks of me.
I don't know if other bloggers are having issues but I can't title anything today. Maybe I need to reboot, who knows. Goofy blogger. On a positive note(also) laurathecrazymama is with child! Now that, along with the motu proprio is cause for celebration! To life! (Women talk warning)We are still trying, still waiting for that temp spike and a hearty luteal phase. I am going to go herbal soon to aid my clomid. Only a few more months so I need to act.
You know what? We have no A/C. It's broken. 90 degrees, 3 tired kids and no A/C. We are in the South(not the deep South, but south nonetheless) and it's hot. But, I will offer it up. I know the perfect cause ;) Kids are yelling every 5 minutes "I'm sweating!". My daughter has found a singing frog toy that is making everyone nuts. We are out of milk too. Haha. I'm not complaining, it's just funny when I think of our situation. I have to find humor in such things. I think it's time to get out a deck of cards and some popsicles. Anyone have any better ideas?

Please don't tell me your parish is Mother of God Parish.
Heavens no. It's St. Cecilia in Independence. It's back on track and I am so relieved. My children still attend the school there and are doing well. Years ago, the priest at Mother of God "scolded" us for kneeling. That was humiliating.
Yes speaking of kneeling at that parish...
When I visited I noticed no one kneeling.
I ask someone who apparently was somewhat involved in the parish why we weren't kneeling when it was required in the rubrics. There answer was that they got a dispensation form the Bishop. It was rather an awkward confrontation and I left the place ranting to my seminarian friend who did not seem to care.
Seems nothing has changed then. Dispensation to do whatever. We had kneelers ripped out of a few parishes years ago. They put them back in the Cathedral, thankfully.
Hmm, I would like to see the person I talked to explain this one:

Documented liturgical abuse right off their own website!
It's normal in this diocese. Abuses get a pass when orthodoxy gets a slap on the wrist. Sadly, I'm becoming used to it.
What on earth HAPPENED to you? oh my goodness. I was just talking to a very good friend tonight who goes to a traditional mass (it's sspx but that's another story) and he says there's no saving the NO mass. It's sad that he thinks that, but it may be somewhat true. I'm still deciding and I have a whole lot more hope (we have great, young priests and are getting more and more coming out of the seminary every year!) anyway, I guess living "up here", I've sort of taken it for granted that we can find a good church if we just look 10 minutes in any direction. Not so in the South, huh? Email me more about it if you get your AC fixed and you have a bit more time? laura7550at yahoodotcom
