This is what I deal with...

Bumping into God in the good ol’ summertime

This is an article in our latest diocesan newspaper. This was featured...as in prominently and in the front of the paper. If we can reduce God to suntan lotion and a sandwich, we are going somewhere in a hand basket and no one is stopping it. Just a glimpse into life in the Covington diocese...

Side note: I particularly like quoting a devotee of the Islamic faith. That really drives the "God is a sandwich" message home. See details of Hafiz here. Oh Lord, help us.

Wow. Your Diocese is rocking.

Either blow the whistle on these priests or yours, or move on.

If it was me, I'd blow the whistle.

Yeah, see, told ya. This is just the tip of the iceburg. I'm getting many locals on this blog so I know I am not the only one disgusted. I have blown the whistle here on a few issues. Just because we are not as obvious as Los Angeles or Joliet(snort) doesn't mean this is an orthodox place to be. The good priests are afraid to be good and they have reason to be afraid. Moving is still an option.

Haven't got this Messenger yet. I'm on the edge of my pew!! Can you say 1970's catchesis? I have a friend who used to underline all of the lunacy in red in this "newspaper" and send it to the Bishop. I think even she gave up.

:-P~~~~
Diocesan papers are getting scary. It is rampant and increasingly frustrating. I like the idea of underlining the lunacy in red. Doubt it would make a difference here, (I'm in the northeast) but I would gain some satisfaction in doing it, at least for a while. Maybe my confirmation students could help...it could be a service project...gag!
